RESISTANT GLASS
SecuriVerre®: greater resistance, greater security
SecuriVerre® glass is heated to temperatures of about 700 degrees Celsius, then rapidly air-cooled, creating a compressed layer that makes it four times more resistant than regular glass. Tempered glass is extremely resistant but can still break under powerful impact. Broken SecuriVerre® glass shatters into many small, rounded, dull pieces, greatly reducing the risk of cuts.
SecuriVerre Ultra®: the ultimate name in safety glass
Safety is everyone’s concern, and SecuriVerre Ultra® provides complete peace of mind. Precaution is the key to safeguarding your home and protecting your loved ones, either from theft or from inclement weather. Laminated SecuriVerre Ultra® is specially designed to withstand severe winds and to resist forces of impact. In the event that the glass does break, the laminated interlayer holds the glass together, greatly reducing the likelihood of personal injury.
Securiverre Ultra® meets rigorous industry standards, including the ASTM’s (American Society of Testing Materials) test F1233 against break-ins, and Underwriters Laboratories’ UL972 instructions for resisting break-ins. Securiverre Ultra® can be made to order to respond to the requirements of any security system.
SOUND-BLOCKING GLASS

Does your world seem to get noisier every day? TranquilliVerre® glass substantially reduces undesirable noise from outside, particularly for houses or buildings in close proximity to areas of high traffic, industry, airports and other sources of noise. TranquilliVerre® glass increases a window’s STC rating, and reduces undesirable noises coming from outside.
Properties of TranquilliVerre®
TranquilliVerre ® is made up of two glass panes: one of 6 mm thick and one of 3 mm thick. It reduces undesirable noise from outside by up to 18% compared to regular glass. The TranquilliVerre Ultra® is made up of two glass panes: a double pane (two glasses of 3 mm thick each) held in place by an interlayer, for a total thickness of 6 mm, and a second pane of 3 mm thick. It reduces undesirable noise coming from outside by up to 32% compared to regular glass.

PurVerre’s® layer of titanic anhydride combined with the sun’s UV rays creates a chemical reaction that breaks down organic deposits on the glass. Since 80% of UV rays penetrate cloud cover, this process works even in cloudy weather. Loosened dirt rinses easily away, leaving your glass clean.
ENERGY EFFICIENT GLASS
Greater Comfort, Greater Savings
Solarcan’s energy efficient glass is perfect for the Canadian climate, providing comfort all year round. The glass portion of a window makes up 75% of its surface. For true comfort in the home, a window must block out cold during winter and hold the heat inside, as well as block the heat during summer.
Efficiency and Energy Savings
The energy efficient glass coating enhances insulation by up to 40%. Argon gas filling between the two panes doubles the insulating effect, greatly optimizing the thermal qualities of the window.
SPACER BARS
High performance stainless steel spacer bars for greater energy efficiency
All varieties of glass used by Solarcan are equipped with spacer bars made of fine stainless steel, specially designed for extreme Canadian climates. These spacer bars reduce the transfer of heat from the edges of the window while conserving the polyisobutylene/silicone double barrier for maximum durability.
PROTECTIVE PLASTIC FILM
Renovating? Protecting your windows is a breeze!
If you are renovating or undertaking messy work at home, ask Solarcan to apply protective film to both sides of the glass while it’s in the factory. Imagine at the end of your renovations – no paint specks to scratch and scrape off the glass with a razor blade, and no window cleaning to do! The plastic film peels off easily, removing all dirt and manufacturing stickers. Your time is precious – treat yourself to this small, affordable luxury.
